DARK Chocolate cocoa beans - Ecuador - Ivory Coast

WHAT I EAT

This tablet combines the aromatic cocoa of Ecuador, the strength of Ivorian cocoa and the crunch of cocoa beans.

WHAT I STAND FOR

Lasting relationships with producers

Technical support in the field has enabled us to accompany producers over the long term, from the creation of their cooperative to the direct export of their cocoa.

In this region where native, mestizo and Afro-Ecuadorian populations live, small farmers created the FONMSOEAM cooperative with the will to unite the communities. Without any experience at the beginning, they had to learn everything: the organization of democracy, financial management, quality control, organic certification, fair trade guarantee, and finally the direct export of cocoa. ETHIQUABLE's agronomist accompanies them on site.

The cocoa for this tablet also comes from the SCEB cooperative in the Ivory Coast, which harvests the country's first fair trade and organic cocoa.

DARK CHOCOLATE orange Zest - Peru - Haiti

WHAT I EAT

The tradition revisited with bright zest of candied orange around the cocoa of Peru and Haiti.

WHAT I STAND FOR

The fight against deforestation

When a tree provides a stable and guaranteed income, it is not cut down. Fair trade thus helps to preserve and develop the Haitian cocoa plantation: it participates in the fight against erosion.

Deforestation is the scourge of the Haitian countryside. The cause: charcoal, which is the only accessible fuel. The problem: the clear decrease of fertile lands. The most effective way to fight against massive cutting is a productive tree cover. With fair trade, the producers of the FECCANO cooperative preserve their cocoa trees and use the other trees present on their plots to fertilize their crop.

cocoa paste°* from Peru and Haiti 50,6%, cane sugar°*, candied orange peel° 8%.

DARK CHOCOLATE QUINOA - ECUADOR - IVORY COAST

TASTE

Intense dark chocolate wrapped around crunchy puffed quinoa.

WHAT I STAND FOR

Collective action to address the cocoa crisis

In order to overcome the cocoa crisis, farmers in the Ivory Coast are developing their terroir by enhancing the quality of their product. Fair trade is supporting them in this collective initiative.

Cocoa from Ivory Coast is often considered a standard quality product for the mass market. However, collecting cocoa from a single area can reveal specific flavors. This is the case in Tiassalé, where the 250 producers of the SCEB obtain a particularly fruity cocoa with an intense chocolate taste. They have succeeded in building an unprecedented project: producing cocoa without any chemical products and controlling all the stages of post-harvest processing. On its own scale, this farmers' organization offers an alternative to the crisis in the sector.

cocoa paste* from Ecuador and Ivory Coast 51%, cane sugar*, puffed quinoa billets* 8%, cocoa butter*, emulsifier.

What I stand for: promoting a forgotten cocoa terroir

Located in the centre of Nicaragua, the Waslala region possesses native varieties of cocoa spread out across small plantations in the most remote forestry areas. Once a forgotten terroir, it is now being helped by fair trade to become well-known.
