1 CHOCOLATE BAR = 1 PROJECT
Each chocolate comes from a small farmers’ organisation with which we have established a development and empowerment project. This is stated very clearly on the front of each packaging. Once the consumers have been made aware of this information, they are able to understand the impact of their purchase.
Here are a few examples of the projects carried out by the cooperatives and Ethiquable:
HAITI - DEVELOPING ADDED VALUE
The FECCANO cooperative now controls the fermentation and drying of its cocoa, which means that it is able to sell its beans at a higher price.
IVORY COAST - MAKING THE MOVE TO ORGANIC FARMING
A group of farmers in the centre of the country has been able to adopt organic farming practices for the first time thanks to a fair and stable price.
ECUADOR - FREEING THEMSELVES FROM THE MIDDLEMEN
The farmers of the FONMSOEAM cooperative have been able to export their cocoa directly for the very first time.
